Hi, I'm Livv Carter โ the lens and heart behind Goth Girl Media.
I'm a charismatic, passionate photographer and videographer based in the Hudson Valley, NY. When I'm not behind the camera you'll find me skateboarding, hiking, playing piano, or outside in nature. I live with four cats, I'm currently fostering a puppy, and I believe animals aren't just pets โ they're family.
That belief is at the heart of everything I shoot.
I started in the rave and nightlife scene โ shooting events for Grey Area at venues like the Knockdown Center, the Brooklyn Mirage, and Superior Ingredients, and in 2024 I had the unforgettable experience of shooting Empire of the Sun. But my work goes far beyond the dance floor โ creative portraits, pet photography, wildlife, and Celebration of Life sessions for pets nearing the end of their journey. I'm so glad I can share my passion and creativity with others in such an intimate moment, and be supportive for them for a lifetime of remembering their best friend.
I live with Multiple Sclerosis โ and it has changed the way I see everything. There are days the heat stops me from hiking, from skating, from doing the things that make me feel most alive. But it has never stopped me from picking up my camera. If anything, MS taught me that moments don't wait. That light changes. That the people and animals we love won't be here forever. Every frame I take is my way of holding onto something beautiful for as long as possible โ and making sure other people can too.
